L’Orangerie Signature Restaurant
Modelled after aristocratic palatial glass houses where orange and citrus trees thrive, protected from extreme weather, the L’Orangerie restaurant is a culinary Garden of Eden where intrepid gastronomes can wine and dine to their hearts’ content.
Poised against a rainforest backdrop and sun-drenched shores yielding to the sparkling Andaman Sea, L’Orangerie serves an extravagant international breakfast spread to start the day. Its morning ritual commences with the chef’s homemade and imported delicacies in the bright and breezy ambiance of L’Orangerie; its lofty French picture windows and open air terrace according vistas of blue skies, aquamarine waters and tropical greens.
Eggs cooked to desired preferences, fluffy buttermilk pancakes and soul-satisfying Malaysian-Asian fare: smooth rice congee, Javanese fried noodles or silky green tea soba noodles in clear broth are some of the delicious offerings by day. Gluten-free breads and muffins also form part of the irresistible line-up.
Executive Chef Gaetan Biesuz renders Langkawi’s diverse culinary heritage through bite-size morsels of Mediterranean hot and cold mezzes at L’Orangerie, alongside Asian appetisers of otak-otak or seafood mousse wrapped and grilled in banana leaves, and herbaceous Vietnamese spring rolls. A Malaysian-centric corner serves grilled fish, spicy fried rice and hot and sour laksa whilst tempting Euro-Asian creations include lobster club sandwich, grilled wagyu tenderloin with black truffle mashed potato, and a gourmet cheese board with dried fruit, nuts and green tomato chutney. Fresh tropical fruits in season, dainty tea cakes and sweet dessert broths keep the sweet-toothed happily sated.
